SATURDAY, APRIL 18th, 2015, “FAITH IN DEMOCRACY”- Preparing to Vote
This event asked what it means to ‘think theologically’ about public issues.
It will explored how a faith perspective can help us think afresh about the kind of society we have and radically re-shape the way we approach issues like the economy, immigration, inequality and the environment.
The session was led by Professor Andrew Bradstock, who works for the United Reformed Church as their Secretary for Church and Society. He is a key member of the Joint Public Issues Team of Baptists, Methodists, Church of Scotland and the URC. Andrew has worked on questions of faith-based social action for more than 30 years, and from 2009 to 13 was in New Zealand, holding the Chair in Theology and Public Issues at the University of Otago.
We were delighted to welcome The Rt Revd Bishop Richard Atkinson Bishop of Bedford to chair this meeting
